II. ABOUT TDT-CREATIVE LANGUAGE CENTER
TDT Creative Language Center offers English courses from very basic to advanced language skills in Listening, Speaking, Writing and Reading, as well as Grammar, Vocabulary and Pronunciation. These well designed courses provide students with elementary skills in the English sound, grammar and writing systems necessary to survive in an English social or academic environment. Classes expose students to English in real-life situations through individual and group activities. We have developed our English programs based on the CEFR. We offer a range of English courses to suit a variety of study needs - English for work, study or travel. In addition, we can help provide preparation for a variety of exams including IELTS, Cambridge English exams, TOEFL and TOEIC. Here are the strengths of the courses:

III. ENGLISH PROGRAMS
- General English
The development of courses for non-English majored students of Ton Duc Thang University is based on The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) according to the Vietnamese government’s decision to develop foreign language teaching and learning throughout the national education system.
- English for Specific Purposes
English courses for specific purposes are offered in fields like accounting, finance, banking; tourism, hotel, restaurant; commerce; building; engineering science; information technology; teaching; and courses for job-related soft skills development programs involvingemailing, presenting, telephoning, negotiating, meeting and socializing.
- International Exam Preparations
Our exam preparation courses focus on exam techniques and strategies. Additionally, our exam preparation program provides learners with effective learning methods and teachers’ thorough instruction to help them to improve and enhance their language skills and competencies to their full potential. Also, learners will be oriented to achieving internationally recognized language certificates for career direction and success.
- English for kids
The courses help children develop their English skills intensively through a variety of interesting and motivating activities. In particular, pronunciation is firmly focused on during the courses.
IV. HIGHLY PROFESSIONAL LECTURERS
Lecturers at TDT-CLC are highly qualified, and many years of teaching experience.
In addition, our English lecturers regularly update their teaching knowledge and skills through language teaching workshops held at TDT-CLC. Our young, highly dedicated, creative and dynamic teaching team ensure that the quality of teaching at TDT-CLC is to the best international standards.
V. TEACHING AND LEARNING APPROACH
TDT – CLC’s English courses help learners to increase their English language knowledge and skills through student-centered teaching and learning methods, which encourages confidence and automomy of English learning in young learners.
Interactive language teaching methods are a priority to promote language and communication among learners.
Learners’ progress is reviewed with regular online homework via MyELT/eLAB and on-going assessments throughout the program.
VI. SUPPORT FOR STUDENTS AND EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
At TDT-CLC, students’ immersion in an English environment is a top priority. Additionally, TDTU students are offered a wide range of activities to further develop their English language and practical skills (e.g. Speaking Contest). Our teachers host regular extracurricular workshops to enhance students’ academic literacy skills.
All English levels offer online practice as well as some extracurricular topics to support students in mastering their English. We also provide special English courses to help students achieve their personal learning goals.
An administration team is available at any time for students who have enquiries about their results, their progress or want to meet their teachers.
VII. ENGLISH LEVELS
Based on the CEFR, we have been using an assessment system that provides a comprehensive assessment of all four English language skills - Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking from level A1 to C1.
- Levels A1 and A2: Students are able to use English to communicate in simple situations.
- Levels B1 and B1+: Students have mastered the basics of English and now have practical language skills for everyday use.
- Level B2: Students have the language skills to live and work independently in an English-speaking country or take courses delivered in English.
- Level C1: is proof of high-level achievement in learning English. Students can be confident and flexible language users and should be able to flourish in an academic environment.
Students who meet all course requirements will take the final examination to be qualified for the next level. Each student needs to obtain a standardized score which determines whether he or she is qualified to move on to the higher level.
VIII. ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
All first-year students are required to take the Cambridge English Placement Test (CEPT). This is a computer-based test which is designed by Cambridge English to assess students’ English ability in Reading, Use of English, and Listening skills of any levels.
